Jefferson Davis Parish claims Louisiana Computer Using Educators' Middle School Teacher of the Year.  Congratulations, Kristy Curlee!
At the recent LaCUE state conference, the state winners of LaCUE Teachers of the Year were announced.  Jefferson Davis Parish teacher, Kristy Curlee from Hathaway High School, was named the state middle school teacher of the year.  

Jefferson Davis Lands in Top Ten Districts

The Louisiana Department of Education recently released results of students performing at or above grade level in 2011.  Jefferson Davis Parish schools were named in the top ten districts in the state.  Seventy-eight percent of Jefferson Davis parish students were performing at or above grade level.  The state average is sixty-six percent.

State Assessment Program

Jefferson Davis Parish schools will participate in the state’s assessment program beginning March 20, 2012
.  Students enrolled in nonpublic and state-approved home study programs may apply to take the LEAP or iLEAP tests.  If interested, parents should contact Rebecca Chapman at the Jeff Davis Parish Technology Center (337-824-6360).  The deadline to register is March 5, 2012, and the fee is $35.  Checks or money orders should be made out to the Jefferson Davis Parish School Board.

The 2009-2010 State of Louisiana and District Accountability Subgroup Component Reports are now available  on the Louisiana Department of Education website and can be accessed at http://www.louisianaschools.net/data/district_accountability_reports_will.aspx.

Jefferson Davis Scores At The Top

With 70 school districts in our state, Jefferson Davis Schools have once again received top scores. 

  • Our district is ranked 4th in the State with a Cohort (4 year) Graduation Rate of 85.3, up 9.1 from 2009.

  • For 2010 we are 7th in the State in our District Performance score with a 107.3, up 2.3 points from 2009.

  • Our district performance score places Jefferson Davis 1st in both Region IV and Region V.
